Become a Volunteer and Make a Difference

Your time and talents can make a profound difference in the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS in our community. Together, we can reduce stigma, increase awareness, and ensure everyone has access to the care and support they need.”

Volunteer Opportunities:

    • Client Support: Assist with client day to day needs, provide friendly companionship, and offer transportation assistance.
    • Outreach & Education: Educate the public about HIV prevention, reduce stigma, and participate in community events.
    • Administrative Support: Assist with data entry, fundraising events, and general office tasks.
    • Food Pantry: Assist with maintenence and up keep of our food pantry
    • One time events: Help with run, set up, and/or clean up at events

Join Our Board of Directors

GCAP is seeking dedicated individuals to join our dynamic Board of Directors! We are a collaborative, working board that plays a vital role in shaping our organization’s future. Board members are responsible for:

  • Strategic direction: Reviewing and approving budgets and policies that ensure the long-term health of GCAP.
  • Fundraising: Securing resources to support our mission and programs.
  • Project oversight: Leading and overseeing impactful projects that benefit the community we serve.
  • Event planning: Contributing to creating successful events that raise awareness and support.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are particularly interested in candidates with the following experience or skills:

  • Previous board experience: A strong understanding of board governance is a plus.
  • Community connections: Individuals with strong ties to the community are highly valued.
  • Professional expertise: Those with backgrounds in finance, law, fundraising, non-profit management, or event planning are encouraged to apply.
  • Personal experience: individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and/or experience working with individuals living with HIV/AIDS
  • Diversity: We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive board. We actively seek candidates who identify as:

Passion is key! We are looking for individuals who are passionate about our mission and dedicated to making a difference. Interested individuals must be willing and able to attend board meetings on the second Monday of each month, assist in our annual Artists Against AIDS event and Holiday Gala, and volunteer 5-10 hours per month at our Champaign House.
