Champaign House

Provides transitional housing for individuals living with HIV and offers a safe and supportive environment to help residents move towards permanent housing solutions.

Eligibility:

  • Individuals living with HIV/AIDS
  • Willing to participate in case management services
  • Be referred to the program by a case manager or other qualified professional
  • Be physically able to perform daily living activities or have arrangements in place for assistance.
  • Not a lifetime sex offender registrant
  • Have not been convicted of methamphetamine production in federally assisted housing.
  • Willing to follow program rules and guidelines

Emergency Housing/ Motel Assistance

Our Emergency Shelter Voucher Motel Program provides up to two weeks of temporary housing assistance to individuals living with HIV/AIDS or at risk of HIV/AIDS who are experiencing homelessness as defined by HUD. This program aims to offer a safe and stable environment while participants work towards long-term housing solutions or wait for placement in our transitional
housing program, Champaign House.

Eligibility:

  • Individuals living with or affected by HIV/AIDS
  • Experiencing an immediate housing crisis
  • Unable to secure housing elsewhere due to factors such as lack of available units, disability-related barriers, discrimination, or harassment.
  • Willing to participate in case management services
  • Not a lifetime sex offender registrant
  • Have not been convicted of methamphetamine production in federally assisted housing.
  • Willing to follow program rules and guidelines

Emergency Financial Assistance Program

This program offers short-term financial assistance to address urgent needs that may prevent individuals and families from achieving stability.

  • Housing: Assistance with rent, utilities, security deposits, and essential housing items.
  • Health Expenses: Support for medical bills, prescription medications, eyeglasses, dental care, and personal hygiene items.
  • Identification Costs: Assistance with fees for obtaining or renewing IDs, passports, and birth certificates.
  • Employment Costs: Support for expenses related to employment, such as transcript fees, license renewals, and professional certifications

Food Pantry

This program supports individuals living with HIV/AIDS by promoting healthy eating habits and increasing access to nutritious food.

  • Cooking Classes: Partnering with the University of Illinois Extension, we offer cooking classes for individuals living with HIV and their family members
  • Supplemental Food Support: Our onsite pantry provides easy access to a variety of healthy food options to supplement participants’ groceries.
  • Enhanced Food Security: Through their case manager, clients can request a $50 Walmart charitable food voucher to assist with purchasing nutritious groceries

Transportation Assistance

This program supports individuals living with HIV/AIDS by assisting with access to transportation. Through their case manager, clients are able to request an annual bus pass, Uber rides for medical appointments, and volunteer-assisted transportation for essential errands and appointments.

    Perinatal/Infant Assistance Program:

    Provides support to pregnant women, including those living with HIV, by offering formula, diapers, essential baby items, parenting resources, and assistance with critical needs.

      HIV Education and Outreach

      We offer educational sessions and outreach services on HIV prevention and care, empowering individuals and communities with knowledge and support.
